foot pain

What are orthotics?

Custom made orthotics are inserts that comfortably fit into shoes; they are designed to support and improve the functioning of feet. Health care practitioners will prescribe orthotics to patients suffering from chronic foot or lower limb, or low back problems and to athletes to help maximize performance during sport.

25% of the bones in the body are in your feet

Your feet have an important job; they carry you throughout the day, with every step making an impact on your body. Walking can produce more pressure than the sum of your body weight and running produces pressure three or four times your body weight.

Did you know that the average person will walk 8,000 to 10,000 steps per day and 115,000 miles in a lifetime? That adds up to more than four times the circumference of the globe.

So remember, if you are experiencing pain or discomfort in any of your joints (ankles, knees, hips or spine), it may be caused by poorly fitted shoes. Come in today for your complimentary foot assessment. Call 403-932-1991 for an appointment with Dr. Ward!
